PREMIUM GRADE The selection of the proper building materials is essential to the long lasting beauty and durability of your deck project. Depending on client choice, we will use Premium Grade (1) Cedar or (2) Pressure Treated Lumber, or (3) Trex™ Decking.
Our Premium Grade CEDAR lumber is treated with three
(3) coats of Sikkens™ coating.
TREX™Composite Decking provides for a maintenance free deck. No yearly cleaning and re-staining. Ever! It is available in a number of colors to complement the client's home.
All of our PRESSURE TREATED LUMBER is hand-picked Premium Grade with a limited Lifetime Guarantee from the manufacturer. It is treated with an "extra" process - a paraffin water repellent added to protect the lumber against the elements. In addition to the extra treatment, the entire deck is pressure cleaned and sealed with Wolman Raincoat™ specially designed for pressure treated lumber.
Exceeds Standrads. Standard Dek With Us construction specifications often exceed local building ordinances. Our construction standards include 5/4" X 6" tight-grained decking (to safeguard against premature splintering) and 2" X 10" floor joists which are 16" on center and complimented with solid bridging blocks.
 Poured Concrete Footers: Our decks are supported by 6" X 6" posts extending 36" below ground and set on poured concrete footers, NOT precasts which may settle and cause your deck to twist
Predrilled Framing. All decking is pre-drilled and countersunk with STAINLESS STEEL screws which CANNOT RUST. Our sturdy rail is completely pre-drilled to prevent splits, is screwed together and BOLTED to the deck with 3/8" GALVANIZED BOLTS.
Cantilevered Framing System. Our unique Cantilevered Framing System allows us to eliminate unnecessary posts and provide an important counterweight to the main floor carriage. This counterweight allows for increased floor rigidity and LONG LASTING VALUE. Once the decking is installed, a 2" X 6" outerband is installed along the perimeter of the deck. This band not only strengthens the rail system, but also covers the unsightly cut edges of the decking--giving a POLISHED PROFESSIONAL FINISH.
